To truly appreciate the wines that are distinctive and produced in the region, tasting wines at Western Australia's Margaret River is highly recommended.
Kate Lamont is an operating partner in the Lamont family business.
Kate and her sister Fiona Lamont personally oversee a wine and food business that encompasses a 10,000 case winery, sourcing grapes from 3 viticultural regions (Swan Valley, Margaret River and Frankland River), two cellar doors (Margaret River and Swan Valley) a CBD restaurant (East Perth), and a beautiful lakeside winery restaurant at Yallingup (Margaret River wine region).
Ms Lamont has more than two decades of experience in the food and wine tourism industry and she is the current Chairman of Tourism Western Australia.
She would love to know what you have found to be the best food and wine experiences across Western Australia to try and entice more visitors to come and unlock the world class range of food and wine in WA.

Ok.. so I opened one of these a few minutes ago.. and it's nearly all gone! It's like.. it evaporated or sommat?
And I have to open another one before Donna comes home or else she will think I don't share.
Are there any wines from Western Australia that don't evaporate?
Should I try and cellar it for a little longer?

A family member purchased a vineyard in Western Australia about 18 months ago but doesn't have a license to sell the remaining stock of wine which was included in the purchase.
He doesn't fit the category of Producer as there aren't enough vines on the property to produce the mandatory 5000 bottles a year required for a Producers license. He's not planning on continuing the vineyard as a business and he wasn't in charge of the vineyard when the wine in the cool room was made. Despite this, he would like the option of selling the remaining stock as there's just a little bit too much for him to get through on his own!
What license should he apply for? His situation doesn't seem to fit any of the licenses offered by WA Racing, Liquor and Gaming. He needs an extraordinary license to sell or supply to the public and as a wholesaler (so he can sell to local bottle shops as well).
We're actually now a little concerned that perhaps the 'sale' of the wine with the property was a bit dodgy!!
Would appreciate any advice/info anyone has on similar situations.

We just mailed our skills assessment and expect to receive a good result. We will be moving to either Western Australia, Tasmania, South Australia, or Victoria, in one of the wine regions. We are hoping to purchase a vineyard/orchard/bed and breakfast accommodation and manage it ourselves. We are applying for the skilled regional visa rather than the business owner's visa to give us more flexibility in employment. Any suggestions?
