  I'm a server and I'm not very familiar with wine. The restaurant I just started working for doesn't have common wines that alot of people ask for, like Chardonnay, Riesling, White Zinfindel, etc. I also need a 2 or 3 word description for each of these, as well as acceptable substitutions for something people ask for often: Ciro Bianco - Vermentino - Moscato D'Asti (whites) Lambrusco - Sangiovese - Pinot Nero - Montepulciano - Merlot - Primitivo - Treje - Pallazzo Della Torre (reds)

  Question about the life of a White Wine?

  A couple of years ago I started getting into wine, and was amazed at how deep the culture went. I'm still getting into it, but have enjoyed learning what I have so far. A couple of years ago, I found a white I really enjoyed, a 2005 Funtanaliras Vermentino Di Gallura. It was difficult to find afterwards, I found, but was finally able to get ahld of a couple of bottles. I recently spoke to a friend of mine who told me white wine turns to vinegar much sooner than I first thought. My question is; does anyone know anything more about this wine, and if so, what is the shelf life? I really liked it and still have two bottles. Is it no good? Next time, how long should I hold onto whites before drinking? Thanks in advance!

  Dont you hate being under 21?

  I tried to buy something from the liquor store today and they requested ID. UGH!!!! I ended up walking a lot more searching for another liquor store. It was annoying. I mean Im not old enough but still...I looked like I was over 21. I just wanted the wine for cooking lol. I always cook with wine. i needed German Reisling and White Vermentino. and im from nyc. they normally dont care about ID. good lord! lol.
