- I pour beer or wine out in front of the customer or before I give it to the customer.
- I don't pour pints.
-More Info-
I work in a restaurant, I get paid weekly, cash in hand (or so they said). I've been paid once in the three weeks I've worked there so far.
I was wondering about some legal things. I am 16, I pour wine and pour beer into glasses and then give them to the customer. I don't pour pints. I was wondering whether this is legal or not. I local restaurant got some license taken away, (not fully sure what happened to them, they're just not allowed to serve alcohol) this happened after local kids were being sold alcohol
The restaurant I work in doesn't ask for ID either a number of times I have poured a beer for someone who I knew weren't 18. I understand that UK law states if it is accompanied with a meal then it's OK, but, the law also says that they have to be accompanied by an adult, which has not been the case a few times.
Thank you very much :)
Also, if it is illegal to serve alcohol, what are the penalties for the restaurant?

Univeristy: Southampton Solent University
Course: BA (Hons) International Business Management (with a 2nd year abroad)
Duration: 3 years
Well, I'm a 21 year old fresher who just started his first year at university.
However, I am not in the best of universities, I go to Southampton Solent University. My uni is ranked 115 in the 118 university guide. It makes me feel really frustrated and also quite put down to know that in the end, when a potential job comes along having Southampton Solent University as your background might just put some people off.
I know I might be a little pessimistic, and that not everyone judges an employee by where they have gotten there degree from. I know that in the end it all depends on the amount of work I put on my final degree, and how much I get on it - whether a 2:2, 2:1 or a 1st! But even though I can pull a 1st off, will it make the difference between my Southampton Solent University 1st degree and a Warwick University 1st degree graduate? You see this is what is hammering my head evenry day. What scares me the most is the fact that my degree in the end will be worth nothing, and the true value of my hard work will be perceived as just another low ranked university in the UK. Even worse is that my university already has a pretty bad image, and coming from there might just get me the last ticket....
I probably sound like a wining idiot, but this is a problem that I take much into heart. I have come with some solutions, ie. do my masters in a higher ranked university, find a way of distiguishing myself from the rest.
But in the end, the question is this
What can I do to get the most out of my situation?
What should I do to come out of this on a higher level?
What are other solutions or possibilities or other paths that I can choose to take to make me become a worthier candidate in the job market or even for my own business.
