I got this wine to write up, a 2007 R. Merlo Estate Vineyards Syrah, and I just have no ideas. It's a big and richly dark wine with a refined balance and an elegant nature. Tasting notes? Well, there are some flavors of fully ripe ...
Chile continues to surprise me to this day, both in terms of the wines and regions but also with a knock on the door from a friendly driver who is happy to pass along a bottle or two or eight from that tall skinny country in South ...
Syrah Resources (ASX: SYR) is ramping up towards the delivery of a maiden JORC Resource at its Balama graphite project in Mozambique, committing to 15000 metres of drilling, which has already begun.
By way of background, opening thoughts: Here's a relatively high alcohol, but reputedly lighter-bodied syrah than others you may find from, say, California or Australia. Original tasting and review : This is Marmesa Vineyards ...
Ramey Syrah Sonoma Coast 2007 wine review by (PB). Dark garnet tomato hue with thick bouquet of rich berry fruit and cigar box goodness with a touch of menthol or eucalyptus. (On opening there was a distinct presence of ...
I am looking for a really good Syrah wine that has a rich flavor, not fruity and sweet but more peppery but won't hurt my pocket book. So far most I have had were too tart or fruity like Merlot and Shiraz. Can anyone help?

I am a teetotaler though, I hardly ever even drink coffee! lol. So, with that, how much physical trouble do you think I'd be in if I actually did this?

How many of you don't? I'm trying to decide wether or not to add one to my smallish wine list at my restaurant.
All of these answers are great so far. I may have to let this one go to a vote. I will say that I have one in mind that is very good. Bridlewood is the vineyard from California. I'm also putting their Viognier on the list. It's delicious!

I have bought the concentrates, but they never seem to taste as refined as finer quality wines? Is it because of the concentrate quality or the way I am making it?

I found one on the shelf at my local high-end liquor store and wine shop. The price is around $31.00. I love a BIG Petite Syrah but the age of this wine scares me.
What are your thoughts? Should I buy it or is probably bad or close bad?

I'm having a chocolate tasting party, but most of my friends are underage. All of the chocolates that will be featured at the party have drink or food pairings, but most are wines. Does anyone know what would make good replacement drinks for these three? Thank you!
