International Wine Cellar rating: 94. A very pale yellow with barely green hints and a lively but discreet nose, 1999 Salon has a youthful grace that captures palate, firm and textured. Brioche, white bread, white blossom, white fruit and bitter almond...
The Wine News rating: 94. This exceptional Blanc de Blancs is one of most celebrated champagnes in world. Made with five of best growths from Cote des Blancs -- Oger, Mesnil-sur-Oger, Vertus, Cramant and Avize. This exquisite wine is made from 100%...
Enjoy this wine from Valle Central Rapel produced by Vina Cono Sur and is a Chilean Still Wine vintage that is 750ml.
Enjoy this wine from California produced by Montpellier Vineyards and is a California Still Wine 2010 vintage that is 750ml.
Dark, with a core of very ripe black currant, raspberry ganache and black licorice notes, supported by polished tannins. A raspberry note emerges more on the lengthy finish. Very solid. Malbec, Bonarda and Syrah.
Kelp, salt spray, and oyster uncannily evoke the ocean in the nose of Bregeon s 2009 Muscadet de Sevre et Maine Sur Lie. Lightweight yet for its appellation unusually broad and soft to the touch, this nonetheless preserves an appropriate sense of...
An old-vines cuvee of Muscadet from a single plot vineyard planted in schist. These are among the oldest vines in Marc's estate (they were planted in 1930) and enjoy a particularly good exposition. While most of Marc's vines are planted on poor,...
This wine's deep, beautiful red-carmine colour is typical of the variety it represents so well. A delicious and velvety Carmenere, which displays red fruit aromas combining perfectly with spicy hints. In mouth it's definitely an intense wine, tasty,...
This wine is fresh and slightly sparking, with floral and fruity aromas when young (apricot, hawthorn). After one or two years of maturation, pungent and iodic notes develop, in addition to the aromas of fresh melon. It is fresh and pleasant in the...
Bright straw. Green apple, lime and lemongrass on the nose, plus a light quinine nuance. Tangy and precise if not particularly complex, featuring good firm acidity providing definition and shape to the brisk citrus flavors. Closes on a brisk, dry no......
Jo Landron is one of my current favorites in the Muscadet appellation, and his wines certainly deserve to be ranked right up there with those from Marc Ollivier, Luneau-Papin and Jean-Jacques et Rémi Bonnet. The regular bottling of 2010 Muscadet is ......

I am giving my boyfriends parents a cheeseboard for christmas, it will consist of a mild herby soft sheeps cheese (fleur de marquis), a salty goats cheese (selles sur cher), a gruyere (comte), a sweet hard sheep (berkswell) and maybe a washed rind too (either epoisses or camembert calvados). Can anyone think of a good red wine that would go with this as a whole cheeseboard?

I can only usually have one glass or I wake up with a head ache. This time I had 2.5 or 3 glasses and I woke up fine. The wine is more expensive than I usually buy and is probably of better quality, but what makes the difference whether or not you get headaches? What's causing the headache in the first place?
Years ago, I had an allergy test done. I found out that I am allergic to oak! Wine is cured in oak barrels but stainless steel as well I'd found out. Anyway, I'd wondered about the "oak" being the problem.
I might sound crazy but aren't there tannins in tea? Or is that tanic acid? Tea doesn't bother me at all.
I drank just cheap wine, but I like red wine so I wondered what it would be like to have a better wine- not the best (my budget doesn't allow it!), but better.
I drank Burgundy, Merlot- too bitter, Cabernet etc...

Hi, I found a bunch of bottles of wine from 1997. I just tried some and was surprised to find that it's pretty yellow in color and didn't taste very wine-like--In fact, it's pretty undrinkable. I can't tell if it's the type or if it's "over-aged" or was stored in a bad place or something. It's "Semillon sur lie" by the way.

also known as a sur name. Something else besides the god of wine. I guess something more modern to it. Hummm, I mean, what king of good meaningful nickmane can I give to that name that will have an emotional attachment.
Dont suggest me something silly or petnames please. No princess diana stuff or, dede, didi, lady d, die those are old, lol.

Recently I've been looking into the benefits of drinking a glass or two of wine per day. I haven't been much of a wine drinker, but decided to pick up a bottle of "Cono Sur"- a $10 bottle of merlot rose. I've had less than half a glass (with dinner) and I'm already feel a little warmth in my stomach. Is it okay to feel a little tipsy, or is that a sign you're drinking too much? I'm not talking drunk, just feeling a little loose. Also, how much does a "glass" amount to? My glasses are pretty large, so I filled it considerably less than half way.
And my last question- I've read that more expensive wines are better for you, because the fruit is richer therefore more antioxidants and resveratrol. I'm not up for spending $100 on each bottle of wine, so what fruits, ingredients or cheaper names should I look out for that will give me the benefits of a more expensive bottle without breaking the bank?
