Tasting Notes - The Quenard Petillant de Savoie (made by Andre and Michel Quenard) is a very light, low alcohol, fresh sparkling wine with a very fine bead and a refreshing finish.
Quenard's Mondeuse rogue comes from the cru of Chignin in France's Savoie region. Intriguing aromas of dried cherry, lavender, anise and mushroom. This wine has fantastic structure with fine-grained tannins and brisk acidity making it the perfect...

It's not La Vache qui Rit (The Laughing Cow), but what is the name of the processed cheese that comes in a round cardboard wheel?
I'm trying to find the type of cheese that comes in a cardboard wheel package. They're processed cheese wedges individually wrapped in foil and arranged in a round cardboard box. There are either 6 or 8 pieces per container and each individual foil piece has a coloured sticker label on it (2 blue, 2 red and 2 yellow). I think it's a French or Swiss cheese and they each have a flavouring added (one is with red wine I'm pretty sure). Can anyone tell me the name of this cheese and the brand that makes it? I'm going crazy trying to figure it out and I can't find it anywhere. I bought one last summer so I know they are still being made. It's NOT La Vache qui rit. This cheese is not spreadable like La Vache, or the processed cheese spread made by Zingg, it's a firmer cheese than that. Is Savoie Six a possibility?

I am a college student currently studying abroad in Paris. It is spring break now, and one of my new French friends has invited me to spend the weekend at her parents' home in the Haute Savoie (near the Alps).
I don't know what to bring them as a hostess/house guest gift! I will only be there for 3 nights, but I have never met her parents before, and it is very kind of them to invite me (an American!) into their home.
I don't think I should bring wine, because they are guaranteed (as French people) to be more knowledgable about that than myself!
I am a student, so the budget is limited. I would like to spend around $20 (which is about €13, also keeping in mind that EVERYTHING in Paris is more expensive).
Please give me your advice as to what to bring!
Anyone with experience in Paris/France would be most appreciated! Bonus points if you can tell me where in Paris to buy the gift :)
Merci beaucoup!
Forgot to add--I have to bring this gift on a 4 hour train ride, so I'd prefer not to have to deal with any too large or perishable (flowers).
Not going to bring a new friend's parents a bottle of bourbon on the first meeting...this isn't Kentucky. (Nothing against KY, that's just where bourbon comes from)
So I've ruled out wine, flowers, and bourbon. Anyone have a more imaginative idea?
