Sending wine as a gift from Poland to USA?

My girlfriend sent me (I live in San Francisco, CA) a gift from Warsaw, Poland about 2.5 weeks ago. The gift as I found out contained a wine bottle and now we're thinking it may have been rejected since it was an alcoholic beverage. Can anyone answer this? Is sending alcohol to USA not possible? Do you have to be a certified something (importer)? Thanks guys. :)

Planning to get a little bit drunk?

I'm 16, I live in poland, and I'm planning on drinking an entire bottle of 13.5% red wine on my own. At 5PM, I had a glass of apple juice, 2 slices of pizza, and some salad. I am planning to drink the bottle at 8 PM tonight. Will the food I ate at 5PM weaken the effects of the alcohol I will have at 8PM Or will i still get drunk? What are some popular snacks from other countries?

So we're trying to put a Holiday gift basket for some of our friends this year and we wanted to put a little snack or food from different countries, a "tour of the world" so to speak. Some countries are pretty easy - France has cheese, wine, croissants and Orangina, UK has cadburry chocolates, Belgium has waffles, Switzerland - chocolate, Germany beer, and Turkey and China - tea. Can you guys give us more ideas? How about Russia, or Mexico? Something Greek? Africa, Australia, Poland, Middle East? Ideas welcome!

hi all, i have never had any kind of alcohol in my life, eversince i have shifted to Poland where people consume liquor like water- i have got the habit of having dry red wine everyday. i do too much of work and after getting tired i feel like having red wine and then sleep- it takes away all my stress. out of sheer curiosity i just want to know- is this a bad habit? having dry red wine everyday- is it healthy? i am a female 28yrs old. under weight. have 9 heamoglobin. please suggest, i will appreciate. thanks a lot!!!
