Enjoy this wine produced by Savanha Wines and is a South African Still Wine 2010 vintage that is 750ml.
This wine has a plum garnet colour with a complex of mix of fruits on the nose. A lively Pinotage sweetness balanced by careful wood ageing, plenty of ripe fruit and a spicy finish. The wine is very accessible and balanced.
The first red wine Frans Malan, founder of Simonsig Wine Estate, released in 1970 was a Pinotage. He was a pioneer in using new small French oak barriques for his Pinotage in the early seventies.
Pinotage is a blend of Pinot Noir and Cinsault first created by Professor A.I. Perold in 1924. Simonsig's first release was a Pinotage in 1970, grown from the original Perold clone. Violet and cocoa powder aromatics, very interesting.

Of the whites I was most impressed with Mellasat's Enigma White Pinotage 2010. I've tasted and enjoyed earlier vintages but this seems to be the most complex and interesting yet. Serve this one blind and see what happens.
Since the founding of the Pinotage Association in 1995, pinotage has grown into one of South Africa's most recognised trademarks, and ABSA is proud to be associated with the growing success of this varietal in the local wine ...

I was enjoying a bottle of Two Oceans Pinotage from South Africa the other night. I tried to get the grape varieties that form the Pinotage but could not locate it.
Is this related to the Pinot Noir grape or is it a blend of something completely different?
Thanks.

Ok, we've had a slight incident - and slopped a bottle of wine (red - pinotage!) across the keyboard - it seems ok, should I do anything special except dry it off and turn it upside down for a while? Did that and seems to have gotten most of it..
Thanks in advance, and Merry Christmas!!

I want to sell my fathers very old red-wine collection. These wines are a combination of pinotage, cabinet sivo and some port dating from 1973 to 1986. Is there a market for old wines? How do I go about selling these wines?

Hi All,
I am wondering if anyone can help or point me in the direction to find the sweeter wines, not necessarily a brand of wine but more the type. For example the sweetest of the reds would be a Shiraz followed by the pinotage then by the cabonate.
I've had a fair few different years and brands but cannot seem to find a consistency.
Some time ago I had a Boschendal 2006 cabernet Sauvignon which i really enjoyed, then more recently I had a 2003 which I didn't enjoy as much. Would the year play apart in this?
I don't classify myself as a pro wine drinker, but any help would be great.
thank you.
