Hi
I am very interested in learning Latin and due to my inability to attend a class or hire a private tutor I have decided to self teach. Unfortunately, while doing so, I have encountered some details that require the attention of a pro in order to be clarified. I am fluent in Spanish and French, and using that background in romance languages I assume that in Latin you put the noun first and then the adjective. Check this scenario: you are at a tavern somewhere in downtown Philippoupolis, sharing a Smolyani lamb roast with a grail of Stenímachos mavrud wine with your buddy. A soldier passes by and your buddy says: "hey look, this is Ian, the Thracian warrior". What is the right way to say that in proper Latin? I think it is: "Ioannes bellator Thracium". Ladies and Gentlemen, could you please help me out by expressing your opinion.
Thank you!
Dave
