Can anyone help, ideally someone who has been there..
I want to go wine tasting with my partner in Rioja, say in about 4-6 months time, I'm not sure where you can stay - I don't want to stay in a hotel, a private villa would be ideal and I don't want to spend anymore than say £500 for a weeks rent, even 10 days would be great, in that case then £650??
Can anyone reccomend where to stay in Rioja, companies that have villas for rent in and around Rioja, how to get around - I assume I'd need to rent a car, in that case which airport would I need to fly to (from London) - and when is the best time to go and what vineyards/bodegas to visit?...
Also - anyone know how much wine I can bring back before I get charged customs, and btw how much is customs?.. I think you can bring 4 bottles each - would I inculde these in hand luggage for the flight?...
Anyway - I'm sure someone out there can help....
Thanks!
Ok so I'll fly to Saragossa, and then rent a car at the airport.
How can I take back wine then??
I'll look for a Casa Rural then to stay in then, but where would be the place to stay and the best bodegas to visit??

and this good for chief agricultural crops?
Because of the relative decline of agriculture since the 1960s, Spain’s rural population decreased and many farms disappeared. There were many crops.Vegetables, fruits, and cereals are the principal crops, about three-fourths of Spain’s agricultural production. Barley and wheat, the major crops in Spain, On the plains of Castile-León, Castile–La Mancha, and Andalusia, while rice is grown in coastal Valencia and southern Catalonia. Corn , grown in the north, is a major fodder product. Other crops include cotton, tobacco, sugar beets, olives. Fruit growing is also common, with citrus fruits, especially oranges being of the biggest need. Other fruit crops include apples, apricots, bananas, pears, peaches, and plums. Spain also produces vegetables, mostly tomatoes, onions, and potatoes and nuts, mainly walnuts.Because Spain is one of the world’s largest producers of wine, grape growing is important. The main wine-producing areas are La Rioja, the Penedès in Catalonia, Valdepeñas in Castile–La Mancha, the Duero valley in Valladolid, and Málaga and Jerez de la Frontera in Andalusia.Animals are also raised. Pigs are raised mainly in Castile-León, Aragon, and Catalonia, and pork leads meat production in Spain, followed by poultry, beef, and lamb. In the Atlantic coastal regions and the dry southern interior, sheep and dairy cows are raised.

Fiestas are a great way to spend the day in Rioja. La Vendimia is held in Logroño on September 21st and is a display of grape-treading, floats and wine-tasting. The Vendimia and San Mateo Fiestas are from the twentieth till the twenty-sixth of September. These fiestas are considered to be the most important. They are a national tourist attraction.
Hotel accommodations:
I stayed at the Luz in Haro. It was a beautiful hotel in the middle of one of the best cities of Rioja. The hotel had a luxurious garden, as well as easy access to the beautiful vineyards of Haro. Haro is known as the wine capital of Rioja, and Rioja is known as the wine capital of Spain. Therefore, I was at the best of the best.
