i have 13 days from the time i touchdown to the time i'm back in the air. i'm 21 and going with 3 close friends to visit a friend who is studying in valpo and living in vina del mar. my plan is 3 days in SANTIAGO to see:
Cerro San Cristobal (in Parque Metropolitano)
Plaza de Armas (main plaza, including national cathedral)
Cerro Santa Lucia (park including El Castillo Hidalgo)
La Moneda Palace (presidential palace)
then off to PUCON (789 kilometers south of Santiago) and:
Volcan Villarrica (climb it for 30000 CLP, including gear and transportation)
Huerquehue National Park (hike past waterfalls and brooks)
then back up to santiago, doing a day of wine country somewhere in the process, and then over to valpo and vina to see my friend. we only have 2 weeks, we won't have the time to go to patagonia, but i was looking for other things to potentially see (lake district, Chiloe, etc). anyone have any ideas or information? preferably someone who's been there. thanks a lot.
