Ever since it was revealed, Allah's Messenger used to fight only those who fought him and avoid non-combatants. Later, Surat Bara'ah (chapter 9 in the Qur'an) was revealed.'' `Abdur-Rahman bin Zayd bin Aslam said similarly, then he said that this was later abrogated by the Ayah ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Ibn Kathir believe’s the verse above was abrogated (naskh), because the prophet also fought against people who did not fight him. Allah says in the Quran 2:106 "Whatever a verse (revelation) do We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring a better one or similar to it". I know Pickthal translated it differently, but his translation is worded weirdly, it is also misleading.
