Andalucian wines are unique and include manzanillas (dry sherry), amontillados (medium sherry) and the sweet Pedro Ximenez, which accompany food and tapas beautifully. It is an interesting fact that since 1996, only wines ...

The terms 'Sweet Oloroso', 'Oloroso Dulce' or their euphemism 'Rich Oloroso' have just been prohibited by The Government of Andalusia. Such wines are to be labelled as 'Cream Sherry'. A good thing I say. Tell it like it is.

I am I going to Andalucia with my boyfriend in August. We are staying in our own villa and are renting a car. Could any of you guys let me know what would be an ok amount of euros to take? Is 700 enough? What does a meal out, wine and petrol usually cost?
Thanks!
Sorry, i meant to say going for two weeks.

We have the means to move, and are willingly selling most of the things we own so we can take at least 50k to Spain. What are the best cities as far as being family oriented, good schools, immigrant friendly, and most importantly good to get a good apartment or house? We love the outdoors, history, books, good food and wine. We dream about moving and making a life there. We used to have friends in Andalucia but they moved to Germany, we don't care about not having family or friends, we just want our dream to come true.
Can anyone help?
No we are not running from the law, we just loved it, we have visited about 7 times in 3 years. We are English teachers.

A couple is visiting us in Spain and they are from the USA. There are many identifiable dishes that Spain is famous for world-wide. Along with Italy, Spain is known for their cured meats and hams. We took our guests up into the mountains where they cure hams and some of the best cured meats are made. Upon our return, they said they were not very impressed. In fact, when the morcilla was presented they shuttered and said NO WAY. They complain that the food is not spicy like Mexico and we have explained that here in Spain, flavors are local and there is an abundant use of rosemary, thyme, garlic etc. They have complained that salads are presented without dressing choices. We replied that the local olive oil and vinegar is used and on the table for individuals to dress their salads. They continue to complain that "these people" need to be taught how to cook. I explained that as far as the 1400's, Spanish Chef's were sought out by royalty in France because of their unique use of spices influenced by the Moorish rule and the North African cuisine influences the cuisine in Andalucia. Again, we were told that they just don't know how to cook. We purposely have taken these people to true authentic Spanish restaurants and not the tourist Paella shops. We went as far one evening to serve a nice wine and offer Foie Gras with fresh sliced truffles from Provence and this was consumed with the comment "what is all the fuss over this"? Never in my life have I encountered two individuals with absolutely no understanding of cuisine development. I still have 5 more days and I am out of ideas.
